A Historical Examination of the Jingshi Popular Library of the Capital in the Republic of China Period
Jingshi Popular Library(the first ordinary library of Beiping City)was an important public library for the public in Beijing during the Republic of China period,and played an important role in the development of social education in Beijing.This ar-ticle mainly examines Jingshi Popular Library in Beijing from the perspectives of social education and public reading,outlines the reading life of it,explores the rules and regulations and reading services of it,and analyzes the reading and feedback behavior of the reader group.It can be concluded that Jingshi Popular Library provides readers with a variety of social services.The library is not on-ly a book borrowing institution,but also participates in the daily lives of readers as a social and cultural institution,which helps to im-prove the cultural literacy of readers and plays an important role in promoting social education during the Republic of China period.The aim is to provide useful references for library research during the Republic of China period.
