A Study on the English-Chinese Translation of Red Tourist Attraction Signs—A Case Study of Shaoshan Scenic Area in Hunan Province
The study of English translation of tourism sign language is an important topic in the field of translation.This study is an in-depth research on the standardization of English translation of tourism sign language in Shaoshan,a red attraction,from the perspective of the three-dimensional theory of ecological translation.By analyzing the cases of English translation of sign language in the scenic area,the study explores the irregularities existing in the English translation of sign language and proposes corresponding countermeasures from different subjects accordingly.It is found that the irregularities in the English translation of tourist sign lan-guage are mainly reflected in spelling mistakes,grammatical errors,non-uniformity of English translation of proper nouns,unclear meaning of translations,as well as translation problems caused by ignoring cultural differences,and the standardization of sign lan-guage in scenic spots requires the joint efforts of the government,colleges and universities,enterprises and the society.The English translation of tourism sign language can provide foreign tourists with more accurate and fluent information,which is conducive to the external publicity of Shaoshan scenic spots,boosting the development of tourism in Shaoshan and also contributing to the international dissemination of red culture.
