The Channel by Which the"Common Hearts and Minds of the People"of China and Malaysia are Linked from the Perspective of the Belt and Road Initiative—Taking the Interchange of Foreign Students in Malaysian Universities as an Example
Since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward 10 years ago,it has made great achievements and set up an extensive platform for international education and foreign cooperation and exchanges that has been welcomed by countries across the globe and provided new opportunities worldwide.Among the five major ideas of the Belt and Road Initiative,the concept of"connecting the hearts and minds of the people"is a key component of the ideological construction of the"Five Links Development",which has been highly successful in promoting high-quality development.This article uses the interchange of foreign students as an example to analyze the current situation and development trend of the student market in China and Malaysia,as well as the motivations and incentives that affect the choice of students from both countries,such as policy support,cultural inclusiveness,education quality,development opportunities,etc.On this basis,it explores new models and attempts in higher education in China and Malaysia,and the role and significance of these modes in promoting bilateral educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.Finally,it proposes that the two-way exchange of Chinese and Malaysian students is precisely the channel for the practice of"heart-to-heart connection".
