Folklore culture is a significant component of local culture.Qingdao folklore culture has a long history and rich con-tent.However,under the Belt and Road Initiative,folklore culture foreign publicity faces new opportunities and challenges in demon-strating the city's image and enhancing its cultural soft power.This article adopted survey and literature analysis methods to analyze the overview,foreign publicity value,and current foreign publicity state of Qingdao folklore culture,and explored innovative strategies for its foreign publicity.The study found that Qingdao folklore culture is currently faced with the problems of weak awareness of for-eign publicity,insufficient publicity mode,limited translation material and undesirable translation quality.It is suggested that the situ-ation could be improved by collaboratively strengthening the folklore culture foreign publicity awareness,expanding publicity mode by the aid of network platform and cultivating translation talents through multiple measures.
