Chinese Audience Interpretation of Korean TV Drama—Case Study of Jewel in the Palace
From 1997 to 2007,Korean dramas,as a foreign cultural product,have been popular in China for more than 10 years,causing emotional resonance,cultural and value recognition among many Chinese audiences.This study takes the interpretation of Jewel in the Palace by Chinese audiences as the starting point,and uses quantitative research methods to examine the audience of Jewel in the Palace in China.The study is based on individual perception theory in social psychology,and uses semantic difference scales,three-dimensional spatial maps,and text analysis to examine the audience's meaning construction of characters.The author hopes to examine the audience's decoding characteristics of Korean dramas through their interpretation of Jewel in the Palace,study the audience group of Korean dramas in China,analyze the audience's decoding methods,preferences,and interpretation differences of Korean dramas,and accumulate basic research materials for audience research in China.
