Chinese cultural words are different from ordinary words,which carry rich Chinese culture and are important carriers for people to understand Chinese culture deeply.The color cultural words are closely related to people's daily life,reflecting a na-tion's aesthetic orientation and cultural preference.Due to the great differences in geographical environment,history,culture and cus-toms of different countries,people's understanding of color cultural words in different cultural backgrounds also has great differences.Therefore,it is essential to understand the meaning of color cultural words in different cultural backgrounds.This paper adopts a com-parative analysis method to analyze the cognitive differences between Chinese and Western color cultural words,explore their cultural attribution,and put forward corresponding suggestions for their use,hoping to promote multicultural communication and improve the quality of cross-cultural communication.
