The Application of Cohesion and Coherence in the C-E Translation of Political Texts—A Case Study of Xi Jinping:The Governance of China(Ⅰ)
In the new era,China has witnessed continuous development in various programs and its international influences ris-ing.The importance of uttering China's voice is becoming more and more prominent,and higher requirements are put forward for the translation quality of political texts.For a long time,some Chinese political texts are prone to piling up words,blunt words and monotonous forms.Translators have to sacrifice readability and coherence for faithfulness.It is found that this kind of translation practice needs to achieve both explicit and implicit coherence,take into account the differences in thinking,cultural traditions,na-tional interests and political situations,and adopt translation techniques such as reference,ellipsis,co-occurrence and repetition.
