A Contrastive Analysis of Three English Versions of The Carefree Excursion from the Perspective of the Translator's Subjectivity
Under the current background of Chinese culture going out,it is of great significance to study the translator's influence on translation activities in terms of the translator's subjectivity so that translators can exert their subjective initiative in translating traditional Chinese cultural classics.From the perspective of the translator's subjectivity,this paper explores the translator's important role in the selection,understanding and expression of the original text.A comparative analysis of Brook Zipron's,Lin Yutang's and Wang Rongpei's English translations The Carefree Excursion shows that different translators have great differences in vocabulary choice,sentence understanding and textual cohesion due to their different cultural and educational backgrounds and language expres-sion habits.It is hoped to provide new ideas for the study of translators in the English translation of traditional Chinese classics by ex-ploring the role of translators as the main body in translation.
