Yao medicine is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine,which is the crystallization of Yao people's wisdom in fighting against diseases for a long time,shining in disease prevention and health preservation.At present,the translation of Yao medicine has encountered great obstacles,such as the shortage of translation talents and the insufficiency of corpus.However,Guangxi has joined Yao medicine into the Belt and Road Initiative,and the study on the English translation of Yao medicine culture follows to the trend of the times.Under the guidance of Relevance Translation Theory,the translation strategies and methods of Yao medicine terminology are studied and discussed,and the four translation methods are adopted flexibly:transliteration+free translation,literal translation,free translation,literal translation+free translation.At the same time,it follows the three principles of accuracy,simplicity and nationality.The translation method of"transliteration + free translation"is usually used when the Yao medicine culture can be preserved,and its meaning can be clearly conveyed.When the translator needs to make an effort to infer the connotation,the free translation is used.It strives to fully embody the unique connotation of Yao medicine while ensuring the accuracy and fidelity of the translation,and constantly promote its international communication.
