Analysis of Translation of Medical Humanity Spirit in Huangdi Neijing from the Perspective of Communication Studies
Traditional Chinese medicine culture is extensive and profound,and it is consisted of medical science spirit and med-ical humanity spirit,which are closely related and organically integrated.To make traditional Chinese medicine culture"go out",translation of traditional Chinese medicine classics plays a critical role,which should attach equal importance to the external commu-nication of medical science spirit and medical humanity spirit.According to literature study,Huangdi Neijing has abundant connota-tions of medical humanity spirit,such as"the idea of people oriented","a caring heart of physicians","a harmonious doctor-patient relationship"and"preventing diseases before occurrence".Under the 5W model of communication studies,the essay compares two translation versions of Huangdi Neijing by the two Wus(Wu Liansheng and his son Wu Qi)and Li Zhaoguo and explores the transla-tion strategies applied and the translation effect achieved respectively.Based on analysis,the essay proposes:to translate traditional Chinese medicine classics,translators should attach equal importance to science and humanity;translators should be able to translate both ancient Chinese into modern Chinese and Chinese into English;the translation strategies applied should be flexible and comple-mentary.
