There are a lot of high degree of freedom(DoF)shape morphing in nature, for example, molluscs hide from their natural enemies by mimesis;fishes realize underwater movement by the morphing of their bodies. The bionics pro-vide a new idea for the robotics by using high DoF shape morphing. In recent years, flexible actuators have become a re-search hotspot, due to their higher flexibility, functionality, and safety, compared with rigid actuators.Besides, the flexible actuators can fit into an unstructured environment. Now,flexible actuators have been proved to be the candidate of bionics to mimic the high DoF shape morphing and motions of animals and plants. However, they are not capable of mimicking the animals and plants.Besides, once the actuators are fabricated, their functions are determined but not re-programmable,this issue limits the expansion of their functionality. For the above needs and problems,in this paper, the authors fabrica-ted a 2X2 piezoelectric flexible actuator array based on polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)and developed a corresponding high-voltage row-column-addressing(HV-RCA)system.
