In order to solve the cost and resource problems of cement-stabilized gravel base in pre-drilling projects in Si-chuan and Chongqing areas,it has become a difficult problem in drilling engineering to make resource utilization of oil-based cuttings, the main pollutant. From the perspective of pre-drilling engineering application of a well in Sichuan Prov-ince,curing experiments were carried out by using oil-based cuttings, modified curing agent MSM,cement and fly ash,and microscopic analysis was conducted by XRF,XRD and SEM.The test results show that the average strength of oil-based cuttings after curing can reach 2.5 MPa and the water stability can reach 94%,which meets the requirements of the code and can be used directly as subgrade filler. In addition, the modified curing agent can promote the depolymerization of ac-tive SiO2,BaSO4,CaCO3 and other substances in oil-based rock debris, and secondary hydration reaction with ordinary Portland cement to produce C-S-H and C-A-H hydration products, and enhance the structural compactness and engineer-ing performance of the base.
