To enhance the flame retardancy of silicone-acrylic emulsion(SAE),MDI-modified silicon-acrylic composite Si-P-C-N coating.is constructed by using SAE as the base material, melamine polyphosphate(MPP)and diethyl phosphite(DEP)as acid sources,β-cyclodextrin(β-CD)as carbon source, urea as gas source, and 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI-100L)as synergist. The effect of MDI-100L on flame retardancy and smoke suppression of the composite coating is studied by cone calorimeter(CONE)and thermogravimetric infrared analyzer(TG-IR).The microstructure was analyzed by infrared spectrometer(FT-IR)and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The thermal stability was analyzed by pyrol-ysis kinetic calculation. The anti-aging performance was tested using an ultraviolet aging tester. The results show that the appropriate dosage of MDI-100L(1.0%)promotes the formation of non-combustible residues that block heat sources and firesources during combustion, and releases refractory gases during combustion,so that the peak heat release rate and smoke produc-tion are reduced by 36.05%and 23.01%,respectively.According to the pyrolysis kinetic analysis,1.0%of the sample increased the Eα from 386.76 kJ/mol to 412.39 kJ/mol at 370~455 ℃,indicating enhanced thermal stability.
