A new type of composite dowel connector with transverse shear nails on the steel dowel was proposed, and the shear bearing capacity of the combined dowel connector was greatly improved compared with that of the steel dowel connector. In order to explore the stress mechanism of the composite dowel connector in the steel-concrete composite beam,so as to promote its appli-cation in engineering, this paper studied the bending performance of the steel-concrete composite beam with the new combination dowel connection, and analyzed the influence of the change of the number of shear nails in the combined dowel on the failure form and mechanical properties of the steel-mixed combination. The results show that the increase in the number of shear nails can re-duce the slip between steel and concrete in the composite beam, and the local stress concentration phenomenon of the combined dowel can also be significantly improved, which can improve the bending stiffness of the composite beam. However,it has no sig-nificant effect on the bending bearing capacity of the composite beam. Finally, the calculation formula of bending bearing capacity and bending stiffness of composite beam is proposed, and the accuracy of the new formula is verified by using experimental data, and the research work provides a theoretical and experimental basis for the application of new composite dowel connectors in steel-concrete composite bridges.
