Mutagenic breeding and transcriptome analysis of Aurantiochytrium limacinum with high yield DHA production
Aurantiochytrium limacinum can accumulate large amounts of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially high levels of docosahexaenoic acid, which plays an important role in the food industry. In order to obtain a high DHA-producing strain,a mutant M2-11 with an 11.42%increase in DHA production was obtained in this study by electron-beam(EB)radiation mutagenesis combined with screening by mal-onate and nile red staining. The results of transcriptomics showed that the vast majority of genes related to lipid synthesis were up-regulated in M2-11 compared to the original strain, and several other functional genes with significant differences also existed. This study provides a reference for mutagenic selection and genetic modification of A.limacinum.
