Experiments on treating odorous volatile organic compounds of garbage via combination of ozone oxidation and chemical washing process
s:The effects of ozone on the rates of removing volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in different processes were investigated, which were compared with that of three-stage chemical scrubbing process of sodium hydroxide+sodium hypochlorite+clean water. The results show that the rates of removing odorous VOCs in garbage odor are 41.36%-49.18%by the three-stage chemical scrubbing process of sodium hydroxide+sodium hypochlorite+clean water. When the ozone generation is 200 g/h,the VOCs removal rates are 56.29%-60.5%by sodium hydroxide+ozone+clean water process, while they are 50.98%-57.3%by sodium hydroxide+sodium hypochlorite+ozone process, and 60.04%-64.16%by ozone+sodium hydroxide+sodium hypochlorite process.Compared with the chemical washing process, the ozone oxidation+chemical washing processes have higher removal rates of odorous VOCs in garbage.
