Preparation of hydroquinone resin and its electrochemical properties
Using hydroquinone, formaldehyde and p-methylphenol as raw materials,a hydroquinone resin was synthesized through a polycondensation reaction under acidic conditions. The structure of the obtained polymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy.Thermal stability of the polymers was investigated through thermogravimetric analysis. The electrochemical performance of the polymers was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and constant current charge and discharge tests. The results show that the synthesized polymer is the target product with excellent thermal stability. In a 0.5 mol/L Na2SO4 solution, the polymer undergoes a reversible redox reaction. At a scanning rate of 5 mV/s,the specific capacity is 69.72(mA·h)/g.At a current density of 0.5 A/g,the specific capacitance is 78.23(mA·h)/g,and after 100 charge-discharge cycles, the capacitance retention rate is 66.2%,demonstrating a high cycle life.
