Anti-ultraviolet aging performance and application of warm-mix asphalt mixtures containing layered double hydroxides additives
A new anti-ultraviolet(UV)asphalt mixture using layered double hydroxides(LDHs)as UV-resistant additives and warm-mix agents as viscosity-reducing additives was prepared. The stability of LDHs crystals was investigated by transmission electron microscopy.Simultaneously, viscosity tests were conducted to investigate the viscosity-reducing effect of the warm-mix agents.Subsequently, physical performance test, wheel rutting test, and moisture damage resistance performance test were conducted to investigate the optimal content of LDHs and the anti-UV aging performance of warm-mix asphalt mixtures containing LDHs additives. Finally,a test road with warm-mix asphalt mixtures containing LDHs additives was constructed, and the pavement performances of the test road was investigated. The results indicate that LDHs have excellent crystal structure stability at 170℃.The warm-mix agents significantly reduce the viscosity of the LDHs modified asphalt.LDHs effectively improve the anti-UV aging performance and mechanical performance of the warm-mix asphalt mixtures. The recommended mass ratio of LDHs to asphalt binder for engineering is 0.03.
