Preparation of modified 2-methylpentanediamine curing agent and its performance
To improve the curing speed and physical properties of curing agents, the curing agent 2-methylpentanediamine(DYTEK-A)was madify using resin epoxy NPEL-128(EP128)and diluted with benzyl alcohol(BA).Different modified curing agents were obtained by varying the amounts used. After mixing the modified curing agents with epoxy resin and curing, the material achieved a maximum hardness of 82 HD,a maximum tensile strength of 30.77 MPa,and a maximum elongation at break of 89.60%.The curing process was evaluated and analyzed using a Gelprof 518 resin behavior analyzer. The activity of the modified curing agent increased, and the curing rate was enhanced. The optimal synthesis conditions for the modified curing agent were m(EP128)∶m(DYTEK-A)∶m(BA)=9∶32∶59,reaction temperature of 50℃,and reaction time of 50 minutes. These research results help to deepen the understanding of the influence of the curing of epoxy resin on curing agents and provide a theoretical basis for the modification of curing agents in industrial processes.
