The intersection traffic flow data were sorted and analyzed,and the optimal cycle length of each time series was calculated.The periodic change threshold was determined to divide the initial pe-riods and merge the periods less than the shortest period.Considering the change of traffic flow,the duration of each steering phase was calculated,the change threshold and division conditions were de-termined,and the secondary time period was divided.An intersection in Suzhou was selected to apply the time division method in this paper.The results show that the time division obtained by this meth-od can better describe the traffic change trend,and the time division is more scientific and reasonable,and the average delay of vehicles at the intersection is reduced by 8.6%.
