Assessment Method for High-cycle Fatigue Performance of Typical Joints in Double Bottomed Hull
A fatigue evaluation method based on a simplified calculation model of stress distribution in elbow plate area was proposed by selecting the joint of double bottom transition zone of a large bulk carrier as the research object.The stress distribution in hot spots of different elbow types was theo-retically deduced,and a scaled model test was designed.The effectiveness of the simplified calculation model was verified by comprehensive test and finite element analysis.D curve was used to evaluate the fatigue of the joint model.Compared with the results of high cycle fatigue test,it is proved that the model is effective in fatigue evaluation of double bottom joints of hull.
