Study on the Hardness Haracteristics of Aggregate and its Relationship with Wear Resistance
The Mohs hardness and Vickers hardness of nine different aggregates were tested by hard-ness test, and the relationship between hardness and wear value was obtained by regression.Based on the grey theory, the main minerals and chemical components that affect the wear resistance of aggre-gate are determined. The results show that granite has the highest hardness and limestone has the lowest hardness among the nine selected aggregates. The wear value of aggregate is inversely propor-tional to hardness, and the wear resistance of aggregate is better when the weighted Mohs hardness is greater than 5 or Vickers hardness is greater than 300.Feldspar and Al2O3+SiO2 are the main mineral components and chemical components that determine the wear resistance of aggregate.
