Study on Adsorption Properties of Modified Peanut Shell for Methylene Blue in Printing and Dyeing Wastewater
Peanut shell is a kind of natural resource which can be used as adsorbent with low cost and high practical value in the treatment of dye wastewater. In this paper, peanut shells were modified with alkali and acid, and the optimum adsorption conditions of unmodified,acid-modified and alkali-modified peanut shells for methylene blue solution under specific conditions were studied,as well as the influence of different conditions on the adsorption effect of the same kind of peanut shells. The final experimental results showed that the alkali-modified peanut shell had the best adsorption performance for methylene blue, and the best removal rate was 98.31%when the dosage was 0.7g,pH value was 11,the initial concentration was 50mg/L and the adsorption time was 30min.
