In the Confucian classics,archery and benevolence(Ren)have a close and important connection.Starting from this phenomenon,we will put Ren back into the development history of archery,explore the origin of archery,and observe the development of archery along the history.We will look at how Confucianism has incorporated a technique,which is a survival skill,into the overall system of rituals and music(Li and Yue)step by step,and further sublimated it into the symbol and practice of the gentleman's(Junzi)personality.Archery serves as a concrete starting point,encompassing the entire process of the genesis,interpretation and development of"Ren"in the conscious path of"survival-ritual system-personality".Through this historical process,we explore the formation of the core spirit of Confucianism,"Ren",from a small perspective,in order to understand its spiritual core.
