Taking 282 prefecture-level cities(prefectures)in China from 2014 to 2020 as samples,this paper evaluates the impact of haze control policies on green economic growth by applying the propensity score matching differential method.The results show that haze control policies have played a significant role in promoting green economic growth.From the dynamic analysis,the promotion effect of policy implementation on the growth of green economy in target areas is relatively stable.In addition,haze control policies promote the growth of green economy in non-resource-based cities,but have no significant effect on resource-based cities.At the same time,compared with larger cities,the implementation of haze control policies has a more significant effect on the growth of green economy in small and medium-sized cities.Mechanism analysis shows that the implementation of haze control policies promotes green economic growth through two paths of promoting green technology innovation and industrial structure upgrading.The conclusion of the study provides a reference for the government to formulate haze control policies,promote green economic growth and realize sustainable urban development.
