Simulation Study on the Combined Management Policies for Urban Traffic Congestion
To explore the roles and effects of different traffic congestion control policies,16 policy simulation scenarios were designed from three aspects:transportation development strategy, transportation demand management, and transportation cost ad-justment,and simulated using Vensim PLE software. The results indicate that traffic demand management is the most effective way to address traffic congestion, followed by transportation development strategies and transportation cost adjustments. The ex-perimental results provide important reference value for urban traffic optimization. In the future governance of urban traffic con-gestion,attention should be paid to adjusting the contradiction between traffic demand and supply, comprehensively utilizing land use planning, traffic management and other means to scientifically control the total amount of traffic demand, travel modes, and spatiotemporal distribution,in order to achieve relative balance between supply and demand at different stages and levels, and ensure the sustainable development of the urban transportation system.
