Guided by grey clustering analysis, this work aims to assess the operational effectiveness of the safety management system of a power grid company. To achieve this,a total of 30 key elements were selected as evaluation indicators from the sys-tem.Subsequently,a safety management system efficiency evaluation model was established and applied to evaluate the safety management status of a provincial power grid company and its 16 subsidiaries. The evaluation results demonstrated excellent safe-ty management efficiency, which accurately reflected the actual situation. This confirms the reliability and practical applicability of the model.Furthermore, the evaluation results indicate that the company has a well-functioning safety management system that can be further optimized and promoted.Using the efficiency impact coefficient, the study identified five aspects with a signif-icant impact on the safety management level and requiring improvement. In response, targeted improvement measures were pro-posed from the perspectives of infrastructure construction, document control, industrial management, network management, and resource assurance. The research findings provide valuable decision support for evaluating the implementation of the national pow-er grid′s safety management system.Additionally, these findings are of significant value in comprehensively improving the safety management level of power grid companies.
