The Significance,Background,and Pathways of Enhancing China's International Communication Capacity in the New Era:Taking the ASEAN Region as an Example
Enhancing international communication capabilities is a crucial aspect of cultural work in the new era.Currently,academia mostly studies the utility of international communication from the perspective of power and interests,with few focusing on cultural governance.Major powers not only have the need to enhance their cultural interests and improve their international image but also have the ability to proactively propose cultural governance initiatives to the international community.This article,starting from the perspectives of cultural soft power and cultural governance,analyzes China's current international communication strategies:on one hand,it insists on enhancing its own cultural soft power to safeguard national interests,and on the other hand,it proposes global civilization initiatives and practices the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind,strengthening international cultural cooperation and contributing to global cultural governance,demonstrating the responsibility of a major power.This article discusses the significance,background,and pathways of enhancing China's international communication capabilities,and takes the ASEAN region as an example to propose how to understand the enhancement of China's international communication capabilities from the perspectives of cultural soft power and cultural governance in the new era,which will be more conducive to the reconstruction of the global cultural order.
