Simulation research on the new synchronization strategy of opposed hydraulic free piston engine
Aiming at the problem of the synchronous movement of the pistons on both sides of the opposed hydraulic free piston engine,a new control principle is proposed, which takes the displacement difference of the top and bottom dead points or the deviation between the actual and the set target values of the pistons of the top and bottom on both sides as the control signal. The proportional-integral(PI)controller is used to control the high-pressure oil pressure or the on-off valve connected to the low-pressure oil circuit to adjust the top and bottom dead points of the pistons on both sides to make the engine run stably.Matlab/Simulink is used to establish a simulation model for simulation analysis. The results show that by controlling the high-pressure oil pressure or the on-off valve, the top and bottom dead points of the pistons on both sides can be balanced respectively, and the engine can run stably. When the two strategies are used at the same time, due to the mutual influence of the two strategies, the top and bottom dead points cannot reach the balance. When the difference between the actual and the target values of the top and bottom dead points is used as the control signal, different target values has an impact on the running results, and there is no reference criterion for the selection of the target value,so the actual effect is not as good as that of the control signal with the displacement difference on both sides. When disturbed, the proposed control strategy has good robustness.
