Effect of continuous dynamic follow-up on clinical effect and compliance of orthokeratolo-gy wearers
Objective To investigate the effect of continuous dynamic follow-up on clinical effect and compliance of Orthoker-atology(Orhto-K,OK)wearers.Methods A total of 120 OK wearers from May 2021 to May 2022 in Beijing Tongren Hospital were in-cluded in this study, and were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 60 cases in each group.Patients in the control group received conventional nursing care, while the observation group were performed continuous dynamic follow-up visit com-bined with conventional nursing care. The visual acuity, axial length,follow-up compliance rate, complications and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups after one year. Results After one year of follow-up,the uncorrected visual acuity of the obser-vation group and the control group were improved. The axial length of the observation group(0.28±0.18)mm was significantly lower than that of the control group(0.34±0.20)mm;P<0.05).Lens protein deposition was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(3.33%vs.13.33%)(P<0.05).Follow-up compliance rate decreased gradually from 1 month after wearing OK,especially in the control group. At the 6-month visit, the compliance rate was 85.00%in the observation group and 76.67%in the control group, with statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).The patient satisfaction rate in observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(96.67%vs.83.33%)(P<0.05).Conclusions Continuous dynamic fol-low-up is worthy of clinical application, which can improve the follow-up compliance of OK wearer, reduce the incidence of complica-tions,and improve the control effect of myopia progression.
