Effect of high-intensity focused ultrasound ablation surgery on pregnancy in patients with uterine fibroids
Objective To investigate the effect of high-intensity focused ultrasound ablation surgery(FUAS)on pregnancy in patients with uterine fibroids and to analyze the related factors affecting pregnancy. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 136 patients with uterine fibroids who were treated with FUAS and had fertility needs from October 2017 to January 2021 in No.6 Hospital of Shijiazhuang. The patients were divided into pregnancy group and non-pregnancy group after FUAS treatment according to whether they were pregnant or not.The general data of the patients were compared, and the factors affecting postoperative pregnancy were analyzed. Results After FUAS treatment,72 patients had 81 pregnancies, and the pregnancy rate was 59.56%(81/136).There were 72 deliveries(52.94%,72/136),46 cesarean sections(66.67%),26 normal deliveries, and no complications such as post-partum hemorrhage or uterine rupture. There was no statistical difference in the preoperative infertility history, the number of fi-broids,the proportion of fibroid ablation, the proportion of fibroid volume reduction or postoperative symptom improvement situation be-tween delivery group and non-pregnancy group, and statistical differences were found in the age,the type of fibroids and the volume of fibroids(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis implied that age, type of fibroids and volume of fibroids were the independence influencing factors of pregnancy. Conclusions The pregnancy rate is higher and the delivery is safe after FUAS treatment. The main influencing factors of pregnancy after FUAS treatment are age, type of fibroids and enormous fibroids.
