Comparative study on the therapeutic effect of floating needle scanning and traditional ac-upuncture in treatment of lumbar disc herniation
Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of floating needle scanning and traditional acupuncture in treatment of lumbar disc herniation.Methods A total of 70 military patients with lumbar disc herniation caused by long-distance running,cross-country training,obstacle running,single and parallel bars,and combat were selected from the First Mobile Corps Hospital of Chinese People's Armed Police Force from April 2022 to December 2023,they were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,with 35 cases in each group by random number table method.The observation group was treated with floating needle scanning,while the control group was treated with traditional acupuncture.The score of Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)questionnaire,visual analogue scale(VAS),lumbar joint functional range of motion,SF-36 scale,and the incidence of adverse events such as needle mouth infection and broken needles were compared between the two groups before and after treatment to evaluate the efficacy.Results ODI questionnaire score,visual analogue scale score,and lumbar joint function range of motion improved significantly in both groups immediately and 2 weeks after treatment compared to the same group without treatment.The observation group treated with floating needle was more significant,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).After 2 weeks of follow-up,the SF-36 scale score significantly improved compared to before treatment,and the observation group showed even more significant improvement(P<0.05).Both groups had no adverse events during the treatment period.Conclusions Floating needle scanning therapy is superior to traditional acupuncture therapy in terms of pain relief in the treatment of LDH patients with military training injuries in the immediate and long-term after treatment.The improvement of lumbar mobility is also better than traditional acupuncture.
