Research and Application of a Unique-shaped Cigarette Sorting Line Planning Model
With the growth of the individualized cigarette market,the consumer demand for unique-shaped cigarettes continues to rise,making more prominent the problem of insufficient production capacity of the unique-shaped cigarettes.Usually,each logistics center will,according to its own actual situation and pro-duction facility,plan and design its own unique-shaped cigarette sorting line.Due to the difference in experi-ence,planning and design conception,and priority,the sorting lines designed are often misaligned in function,giving rise to risks such as insufficient production capacity and low efficiency after completion.In this paper,based on the existing condition of a production facility,including its equipment,power distribution,and gas supply,etc.,we proposed a general original-site-based unique-shaped cigarette sorting planning model to de-sign a unique-shaped cigarette sorting system with appropriate technological sophistication,supporting work processes,and efficient operation.Based on past experience in sorting line design and planning,we put forward a"6358"original-site-based unique-shaped cigarette sorting line planning model to serve as a universal plan-ning framework for other units in the industry.In the model,the digit"6"means detailed examination of the six items,which are sorting workload,operating time,brand quantity and size,site size,existing equipment,and electrical configuration,to collect data for statistical analysis,investigation,logical reasoning and forecast-ing;the digit"3"means production capacity budget,efficiency calculation,and benefit calculation,which are ultimately used to calculate the production capacity,economic benefits,and efficiency of equipment within the planning period;the digit"5"means layout planning research based on the original site,model selection planning research,transportation planning research,electrical transformation research,and system supporting research,etc.;and finally,the digit"8"means,on the basis of previous planning,perfecting the use of the plan-ning drawing,process flow chart,environmental impact assessment manual,technical specification,acceptance checklist,safety specification,operation manuals,and job setting table,etc.Then the"6358"model is used to plan and implement the unique-shaped cigarette sorting line of the tobacco company A.The results shows that the unique-shaped cigarette sorting line so designed has better performance in terms of sorting error rate,work efficiency,site area occupied per cigarette and production cost.For tobacco companies with annual sales of more than 20,000 boxes of unique-shaped cigarettes,which suffer from low sorting efficiency,backward existing equipment and technology,difficulty in expanding on-site space,multiple cigarette brands and specifi-cations,and uneven sales,the original site based independent design and planning method established in this pa-per has certain referential and practical significance.
