Development Trend of International Air Cargo Logistics in Post-Covid Era
Transportation is a basic,leading and strategic industry in the national economy and an important service industry.Air cargo,for its high service timeliness,high service standard and high service quality,can bet-ter satisfy the need of cross-border transportation of high-value products.Therefore,international air cargo logistics has gradually become one of the most popular transportation methods in international logistics.Under the huge impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the global economy,many countries and regions have been slogging to keep their economies afloat.In post-Covid era,a more important role will be played by the government in economic recovery and reshaping,whose policies and measures encouraging logistics develop-ment will be the key to achieving sustained economic recovery.At the same time,the outbreak of,and the sub-sequent lockdowns implemented to curb,the Covid-19 Pandemic,have exposed the fragility of the global supply chain.For this reason,many companies start to reconsider their supply chain strategy,while restructur-ing the supply chain will involve repositioning the production bases,and strengthening the sustainability and stability of the supply chain,which may lead to the relocation of the offshore production and supply chain facil-ities of some companies,greatly affecting the logistics chain.In this paper,focusing on the development trends of the international air cargo logistics industry in the post-Covid era,we analyzed the constraints and deficien-cies existing in the current external development environment of the international air cargo logistics industry and problems with the industry itself,and discussed its future development trends.In the analysis of the external development environment,we pointed out the impact of national policy support,uncertainty in the world eco-nomic and trade environment,and changes in social environment,etc.on the logistics market.In terms of de-velopment constraints and deficiencies,we looked at issues such as aviation fuel price fluctuations,lack of cargo hub airports,lagging development of all-cargo aircrafts,fierce industry competition,and information barriers in the service chain.Finally,we predicted the future development trend of the industry,and proposed to use fi-nancial derivatives to control logistics costs,build air cargo hub airports to improve logistics efficiency,intro-duce all-cargo aircrafts to improve the transport capacity structure,improve the level of comprehensive servic-es throughout the entire logistics chain,and firmly implement the digital transformation of the industry,etc.In-ternational air cargo logistics in the post-Covid era is in a stage of rapid recovery.How to navigate out of un-certainty and confusion and single out a viable development direction is an issue worthy of in-depth discus-sion.In this paper,we analyzed how in an external environment full of opportunities and challenges,the interna-tional air cargo logistics industry should reasonably lock in logistics costs through the application of financial de-rivatives;ensure smooth air cargo transportation and improve logistics efficiency through the construction of air cargo hub airports;improve the transportation capacity structure,optimize the freight network,and expand the market and service scope through the introduction of all-cargo aircrafts;design an overall service structure by providing upstream and downstream comprehensive logistics services,and establish a complete supply chain management system to provide customers with one-stop overall solutions;and through the digital transforma-tion of the entire logistics chain,improve the efficiency,safety and customer experience of the entire air cargo logistics industry.All in all,international air cargo logistics companies need to heed the development trends of the industry,comprehensively use development measures,and accelerate the formation of competitive advan-tages in the post-Covid era.
