Green Development of Logistics Industry in Hunan Province under Dual Carbon Goals:Path and Countermeasures
Under the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Development, achieving"carbon peak"and"car-bon neutrality"has become a common pursuit across all industries in China. As the bridge connecting pro-duction and consumption, regional logistics plays a crucial role in supporting the sustained growth of region-al economy. At the same time, being also a major contributor of carbon emissions, under the guidance of the dual carbon goals and the concept of green development, the logistics industry is being doubly pressed to achieve higher economic efficiency and greener development. In such light, the green transformation of the regional logistics industry is of great significance for achieving the dual carbon goals. In this paper,we have an in-depth analysis on the"high carbon emissions"situation in the logistics indus-try in Hunan Province, and use the LMDI decomposition method to study the various factors affecting the carbon emissions of the logistics industry and the extent of their influence, isolating energy structure, energy utilization efficiency, industry structure, economic output, and population size as the main influencing fac-tors.Then,using relevant government statistical data for relevant years,we calculate the total carbon emis-sions of the logistics industry in Hunan Province from 2018 to 2022,and derive the contribution values and contribution rates of the above factors.Furthermore,we further look at the specific effect and changing trends of the factors on the carbon emissions of the logistics industry in Hunan Province.Based on this,a series of suggestions have been put forward, including optimizing the energy structure of the industry to promote the application of clean energy;improving energy utilization efficiency by turning to more energy-efficient technologies;optimizing industry structure and developing multimodal transporta-tion and standardized equipment;adjusting economic development mode and advocating green consump-tion and logistics;controlling population scale and developing green distribution and intelligent express deliv-ery services;moreover, the government should introduce encouraging policies, provide financial support and technical guidance to promote the green transformation of the logistics industry. However, this study is still limited in some aspects as it is mainly based on macro data analysis, therefore lacking in-depth research on specific logistics companies and transportation links. Therefore,it is recom-mended more comprehensive researches can be done on the carbon emissions of specific logistics companies, including the transportation methods, energy use,and equipment efficiency, etc.of the companies and their potential in new technology application, thus providing new ideas and technological paths for the low-car-bon transformation of the logistics industry.
