Research on Statistical Measurement and Spatial Characteristics of New-quality Productivity Level of Chinese Logistics Industry
The development of new-quality productivity is not only a core driving force for promoting high-quality economic development but also an indispensable key strategy for achieving the grand goal of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.As a fundamental,strategic,and leading industry and a pillar to the national economy,the logistics industry urgently feels the need for the development of new-quality produc-tivity.This paper delves into the basic connotation of the new-quality productivity of the logistics industry and,on this basis,constructs a scientific and reasonable evaluation index system aimed to comprehensively and ac-curately grasp the current development status,realistic foundation,and spatiotemporal evolution characteris-tics of the new-quality productivity of the logistics industry in China,thereby underpinning the accelerated development of the logistics industry.Taking 30 provinces/cities in China as the research object,the entropy weight method is used to measure the level of the new-quality productivity of the logistics industry in these provinces/cities from 2012 to 2022.This method ensures the objectivity and accuracy of the evaluation re-sults,laying solid foundation for subsequent in-depth analysis.Furthermore,methods such as the Dagum de-composition of the Gini inequality ratio,kernel density estimation method,and spatial Markov chain model are employed to further explore the regional difference and spatiotemporal characteristics of the new-quality productivity of the logistics industry in China.The research finds that the level of the new-quality produc-tivity of the logistics industry in China shows a steady upward trend,but there is imbalance across the re-gions,with the eastern region significantly higher than the others;the Gini coefficient analysis identifies re-gional difference as the main reason for the overall imbalance,which will remind policymakers to pay more attention to narrowing such cross-regional gap.At the same time,the kernel density estimation method is used to analyze the spatial heterogeneity of the new-quality productivity level of the logistics industry in these provinces,revealing a significant gradient difference between the eastern and central-western regions,as well as multi-polarity in the central-western regions.Then,the spatial Markov chain model is used to show that the new-quality productivity of the logistics industry in China maintains a forward-moving state,with good synergy and regional linkage among the provinces,where high-scoring provinces will lend mo-mentum to their slower counterparts.Accordingly,it is proposed that corresponding measures must be taken to strengthen regional coordination,optimize spatial layout,and enhance industrial spatial synergy to pro-mote the overall development of the logistics industry.
