Research on Job Embeddedness and Turnover Intention of Tourism Management Interns Based on Social Cognitive Career Theory
Based on the career choice sub-model of social cognitive career theory,a structural equation model is constructedto examine the relationship between work engagement and turnover intention among hotel interns in the tour-ism management major. It is foundthat the job embedding of hotel interns doesn't have a direct effect on theretention in-tention,but affects it through the chain mediation of self-efficacy and outcome expectation, and that self-efficacy nega-tively affected retention intentions, andpositively affected outcome expectations, and outcome expectations positively af-fected retention intentions. This suggests that improving interns'self-efficacy and establishing positive career outcome expectations can help increase the likelihood of retention and alleviate the"mismatch between supply and demand"and the hidden loss of tourism talents.
