The foundation of strengthening the sense of community for the Chinese nation lies in the people,and whether they are"centripetal"or"centrifugal"hinges on education.Colleges and universities play the foremost part in the ideologi-cal sphere and are the key platform for consolidating the sense of community of the Chinese nation.This paper makes a case study of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation in a tangible,infectious and effective way in Urumqi Vocational College,which is a typical Xinjiang's practice.Through the case study,it interprets the necessity of conducting the education of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation in Xinjiang vocational colleges from three aspects:fully and faithfully carrying out the plans and the policies of the CPC for the governance of Xinjiang in the new era,implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education,and building a shared spiritual home for the Chinese nation.A practical path is put forward in the paper.It is necessary for Xinjiang vocational colleges to forge a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation among students by relying on the unique advantages of vocational education in ethnic areas,comprehensively strengthening the Party's leadership to build a solid foundation for unity and endeavor,fully promoting the building of a shared spiritual home for the Chinese nation,constructing the embedded com-munication and exchange model between teachers and students of all ethnic groups in all aspects,and popularizing the mode of"national common language+"national wide.
