On the Correlation between Predicate Sentence Patterns and Semantic Types of Verbs in Existential Sentences
Referring to verbs used in"V you"sentence pattern summed up in the Sun Honglin's research(1996),this paper revises the verb semantic classification of Li Linding(1986).Based on the classification,it investigates the correla-tion between the semantic types of verbs and"V zhe","V le"and"V you",quantifies the frequency of use of"V zhe","V le"and"V you"in verbs of different semantic types,and analyzes the reasons.It eventually finds the linguistic fact that the"construction"type verb"V you"is most frequently used,and indicates its cognitive reasons.
