On the English Translation of the Introductory Texts of Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage from the Perspective of Three-dimensional Transformations of Eco-translatology
Shaanxi intangible cultural heritage is an important embodiment and carrier of Shaanxi cultural soft power,whose translation can not only help Shaanxi cultural essence go to the world,but can also promote the worldwide protec-tion,heritage and development of Shaanxi intangible cultural heritage.The"three-dimensional transformation"theory of eco-translatology provides theoretical support and methodological guidance for the English translation of introductory texts of Shaanxi intangible cultural heritage,which can effectively solve translation difficulties such as paratactic sentences and cul-ture-specific items in the introductory texts of intangible cultural heritage as well as names of intangible cultural heritage rep-resentative items.When translating paratactic sentences,translators should focus on the transformation of language dimen-sion,making using of the translation method of division to achieve natural transformation from Chinese which features parataxis to English which features hypotaxis.When translating culture-specific items,translators should focus on the trans-formation of cultural dimension,adopting translation strategy of foreignization in content and domestication in language to spread Chinese culture to foreign countries.When translating names of intangible cultural heritage representative items,trans-lators should focus on the transformation of communicative dimension,breaking through constraint of linguistic form of the original text and accurately conveying the connotative meaning and communicative function of the names.
