The current Chinese curriculum standards were formulated under the guidance of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,and it implemented the spirit of the National Education Conference fully,where the-whole-book-reading and discussing project was listed as the first one among 18 tasks to be given priorities.The project of the whole-book-reading and discussing of Historical Records is carried out with a profound historical foundation,a clear policy guidance and a strict disciplinary theoretical basis.In the New Era,the implementing of the-whole-book-reading and discuss-ing of Historical Records systematically is based on the practical need for the cultivating of people in morality due to some problems in reading Historical Records like unclear understanding of the cultural origin of Historical Records,the selection of the textbooks of Historical Records not being as a whole,and insufficient in-depth research on the modernization and transformation of excellent traditional culture in Historical Records,although numerous studies on reading and evaluation of the whole book of Historical Records have been actively explored in combination with teaching practice,and certain achieve-ments have been made in the reading,evaluation,and techniques of the Historical Records.For this case,while reading and researching the whole book of Historical Records at the basic stage in the New Era,we should remember the historical path of the inheritance and research of Historical Records since Sima Qian,keep our Chinese predecessors'successful path of the research on Historical Records firmly in mind,follow the path of insistence and innovation.
