Mao Zedong put forward contradiction quintessence theory with the relationship between universality and par-ticularity of contradiction as its quintessence,which can be explained clearly only within the framework of the history of dia-lectics.The research of dialectics can generally be categorized into two tendencies,namely,theory and practice one.From the origin of the dialectics to Hegel's dialectics,the research tendency of dialectics is focused on theory,and from Marx's materialist dialectics the research tendency of dialectics is focused on practice with the concept of practice manifesting the practical traits.Marx and Engels opened a methodological way to inherit and develop Marxism through the unification of uni-versality and particularity of Marxism,and Mao Zedong not only put forward the contradiction quintessence theory through consideration of the Chinese revolution,but also inherited and developed Marx and Engels'methodology further.
