More and more scholars pay attention to the negative effects of high-performance work system,but the re-search on it is still lack of systematic and holistic exploration.This paper mainly deals with the double-edged sword effect of high-performance work system and shows the following findings,that is,high performance work system is not a stable prac-tice system composed of positive and negative effects,but a dynamic cluster of human resource management with positive and negative effects in different situations;the double-edged sword effect of high performance work system is affected by some factors like leaders,employees and work environment;implicit leadership theory,dual task processing effect,role theory and"too much being as bad as too little"effect are important theoretical perspectives to explain the double-sword ef-fect of high performance work system.Finally,this paper puts forward future research directions for the double-edged sword effect of high performance work system.
