Meta-universe,as the latest form of internet information technology development,is influencing and recon-structing the space-time field of human existence.Online ideological and political education,an important content of human activities,will certainly be profoundly reshaped by the meta-universe in its educational environment,thinking and methods.While the meta-universe empowers colleges and universities to break through the limitations of online ideological and politi-cal education,it can offer some paths and future pictures for the innovative development in colleges and universities'online ideological and political education by use of the digital double technology,digital twin technology and NFT technology.However,technological innovation is a double-edged sword,so it needs to be guided by ideological and political educa-tion,that is,strengthening the guiding role of mainstream ideology in meta-universe;being people-oriented and avoiding the trap of meta-universe technological alienation;educating students being moral and humanistic to strengthen the emotion-al interaction of"meta-universe empowering on line ideological and political education"in colleges and universities.
