摘要
盖尔作为社会人类学家,其遗作《艺术与能动性》可能是自人类学研究领域出现以来对其进行的最彻底的反思.该书开篇就对什么是艺术和艺术人类学提出疑问,指出过去的艺术人类学依附于其他理论而建构,并提出可否有视觉艺术人类学.他认为艺术人类学是一门社会科学,艺术作为一种行动,在"物"的捕获下形成一个能动的关系网络,并由这种"关系网络"的多层内外交织与丰富性寻找和开创一种更具普遍意义的人类艺术研究方法与原创范式.同时盖尔激进的思想也带来了学术界的批判和争论,对于他思想的丰富与多重价值,应从其隐蔽的或只是隐含的影响盖尔思想的来源及提出的核心理论与关键主题来对其学术遗产进行重新解读.
Abstract
As a social anthropologist,Alfred Gell's posthumous work Art and Agencymay be the most thorough reflec-tion on the field of anthropological research since its emergence.The book begins by questioning what art and artistic anthro-pology are,pointing out that past artistic anthropology was constructed on the basis of other theories,and asking whether there exists an anthropology of visual arts.It believes that artistic anthropology is a social science,and as an action,under the capture of"objects",art forms an active relationship network with the a multi-layered internal and external interweav-ing,aiming to find and create a more universal human art research method and original paradigm.At the same time,Gell's radical thoughts also brought criticism and controversy in the academic community,and to reinterpret Gell's academic lega-cy,the richness and multiple values of his thoughts should be considered from the hidden or only implicit influence of the source of Gell's thoughts,the core theories and key themes he proposed.
