Under the new circumstance,the service connotation-deepening,the service function-expanding and social service-developing in the local college libraries are not only necessary for the development of local economy and social cul-ture but also necessary for the transformation for the development of colleges and for their own development of libraries.Therefore,local college libraries should proceed from local conditions and keep society-oriented,further deepen the conno-tation of social service,innovate the mode of social service,and improve the level of social service with the aim to strength-en resource sharing,improve the utilization rate of resources.Based on integrating the existing resources,starting from the most basic literature services,local college libraries can collaborate with primary and secondary schools,communities,town-ships and other functional departments,actively participate in the development of local basic education and promote the con-struction of community culture and local characteristic culture,so as to make more contributions to the local cultural con-struction and social-economic development.
