The theoretical roots of Sima Qian's thought of revenge are mainly derived from the study of the Gongyang.Through the study of the idea of revenge in the Biography of Gongyang and Dong's study of Gongyang,it is found that the pre-Qin Confucianism represented by the Gongyang and the Dong's study of Gongyang had emerged since the Han Dynas-ty,and influenced the formation of Sima Qian's revenge thought at the theoretical level.While inheriting Gongyang,Sima Qian also made a new interpretation of the concept of revenge.Sima Qian integrated the concept of revenge into the writing of the Historical Records,and combined it with the life ideal of"fame",promoting the thinking and reinterpretation of re-venge with the reflection of the status and value of the idea of"revenge"in the Han Dynasty.
