Wu Zelin had deeply investigated and researched the minorities in Guizhou and Yunan Province during the period of the Anti-Japanese War and formed national views of unity in diversity.The concept of nationality and the concept of state are integrated:promoting the integration of the Chinese nation,safeguarding national security and unity;the view of nationality and the view of frontier are integrated:summarizing and analyzing the characteristics and problems of China's frontier and seeking solutions;the concept of nationality and the concept of development are integrated:putting forward two models and five principles for the construction of frontier society,identifying the people's subject and the country's dominant,giving priority to the development of transportation and at the same time implementing a positive scheme for the welfare of border residents.All of the above not only had followed the needs of anti-Japanese war and post-war national construction but also have provided Wu's wisdom to develop the ethnic minority areas in the western frontier and construct the community for the Chinese nation in new era.
