The origin of the Nanzhao military system can be roughly divided into three elements.Among them,the multiculturalism within Nanzhao is the fundamental factor;The military-political culture of the Central Plains,represented by the Tang Dynasty,was a direct factor;The influence of institutional culture such as Tubo and artifacts on the Nanzhao military system was the least,which is the surface factor.In the continuous exchanges between Nanzhao and the Tang and Tubo,this diversified military system,which not only gathered a variety of cultural factors,but also condensed local characteristics,gradually took shape.In essence,it reflects the multicultural integration pattern in Yunnan,and also promotes the formation and development of the pattern of diversity and integration of the Chinese nation.
