Effects of Carbon Sources on Conidial Quality of Beauveria bassiana
The quality of conidia imperatively affects proliferate and the virulence of Beauveria bassiana. In order to raise the conidial quality of B.bassiana, the fungi were cultured on PDA medium with different carbon sources. The effects of carbon sources on conidial quality were clarified based on conidial wall components, intracellular antioxidant enzyme activities, endogenous trehalose content, and relative genes expressions. The relationship between the carbon sources and the gene associated with conidial development was further analyzed. The results showed that, glucose was used as a control, the expression levels of genes related to conidial wall composition, antioxidant enzymes, trehalose synthase and conidial development in conidia cultured with fructose, maltose, and sucrose as carbon sources were signif-icantly up-regulated.Polysaccharide content and antioxidant enzyme activity were successively as followed fructose>maltose>sucrose>glucose>lactose, and the trehalose content was successively as followed sucrose>fructose>malt-ose>glucose>lactose.By exploring the effect of carbon source on the quality of conidia,it provided a theoretical ba-sis for the screening highly resistant conidia.
